Setup Guide

  1. Download iKontroller from the iOS App Store
  2. Open the app and enter your username
  3. Grant Local Network permission when prompted
  4. Ensure your iPhone/iPad is on the same Wi-Fi as your Mac or that they are connected via USB-C/Lightning cable
  5. Wait for your Mac to appear in the device list or simply perform a manual refresh by tapping the "Refresh" symbol in the Device Pairing screen
  6. Tap your Mac to pair with it and follow the on-screen instructions

Creating Custom Layouts

Step 1: Create a New Layout

  1. Tap the Layouts button in the top-left
  2. Tap the + button to create a new layout
  3. Enter a name for your layout (e.g., "FPS Game", "Minecraft")

Step 2: Add Controls

Step 3: Map Keys

  1. Enter Mapping Mode
  2. Tap a button or joystick; which allows you to map it
  3. Press any key on your Mac's keyboard
  4. Buttons are mapped to a single key and Joysticks are mapped to 4 keys(up, down, left, right)
  5. The key(s) will be captured and assigned to that specific button or joystick
Note: Custom layouts require iKontroller Gold subscription. The default layout is free and supports up to 10 controls.

Device Pairing

Pairing a New Mac

  1. Ensure your iPhone/iPad and Mac are on the same network or connected via USB-C/Lightning cable
  2. On your Mac, go to the Device Pairing tab
  3. On iOS, select your Mac from the discovered devices
  4. A 6-digit code will appear on your Mac
  5. Enter this code on your iOS device
  6. The devices are now paired!
